Simple question here. Just that the answer is not easy to find.
My monitor blanks out after only 1 minute of inactivity. So when I'm watching a movie, I have to move the mouse every minute to keep the monitor on. How do I extend the inactivity time? I stopped the apmd daemon but this is still happening. Is there some power management configuration tool around in Mandrake? I can't find it in the Mandrake System Configuration Tool.
Could be APM settings in the BIOS doing it or, just to give a complete answer (though I'm sure you've probably already checked,) you could have the screensaver set to blank the screen.
Most likely your screensaver is set to the default setting of one minute. There is a bug in the Mandrake screensaver module that will launch the screensaver app even though there is no screensaver set. That causes a blank screen.
