mnf2 plz help


I have install MNF2 in graphic form
after finishing installaion
I was I asked for login name (it wasnt graphecally just balck screen why?)
the password (the keyboard didnot write any word )
why the screen s in txt form and didnot recieve the password
(I need to use it as a router)

It does not show the password for security reasons, you may change this to * or *** per letter at another stage.

Does the prompt change after you log in?

After you have logged in, type "startx" (without quote marks) and hit enter.

That should bring up the GUI.

sorry you didnt understand me well I cannot log in to mnf2
whene i write my login name
then I were asked to write password
I write it but the prompt didnot move , any way I press enter
m give me invalid loggen

OK.......

When you have the black login screen, does the caps lock LED on your keyboard change state when you press the caps-lock key? (You know the three lights on the keyboard for num-lock, scroll-lock and caps-lock)

If it changes then your keyboard is working.

Make sure you still use the same Case When You Type In the PassWord (Like, GlennsPref) even though you can't see it.

The prompt should change after you have logged in.

Then you can type startx.

my password just number and the num lock is working
the prompt didnt move and didnt echo any thing not even *****

I'm at a loss as to what the problem is.

But as I said above, there is no echo for the password.

And remember all passwords and names are case sensitive in unix/linux

Maybe try a re-install and read the manual.

well
now I am in
I logged in but the black screen still ther
and I type startx
command not find
I guess i need to insall GUI "how"
