Missing menu on Mandrake 9.2
I have just freshly installed mandrake 9.2. And then when I installed a few programs using the package manager, some of my menu items where missing. What can I do to bring those menu items back?

Use the menu editor to restore system menus. Lots of things will be restored.

I have been having this problem too.
As root, run the command: update-menus -v and it will go through and rebuild the menus for you. Edit: After trying it again, I have found that it also works if you aren't root. |
Dudes thank you very much, I was looking for that!
But why is mandrake doing that, i've never seen anything like that in 9.1... |
I think it's a misconfiguration with kde that's causing this.
I remember it used to do this to me sometimes in Mandrake 8.1, especially if you upgraded to the then new KDE 3.0. |
I have the same problem with 9.2 (gnome), and i don't have kde installed... :-( ...
|
I stand corrected. But did the command work?
