Mdv-2010 & Virtualbox

I'm installing mdv-2010 KDE as the guest inside mdv-2009.1 as host and it seems to be taking forever to install. I'm installing it from the dvd iso, not a dvd disc.

The status bar is showing around 5 hours to go, is the normal or what?

The system is a C2D, 2.0ghz, with 2gb memory. I allocated 2010 512mb of memory on 7gb disk space.

I'm not sure what happen. I went to cancel the install and it seems to speed up the process and finished.

I'm using it now, though with KDE it runs slow.

Hi Fred, kde3.5.x will use much less memory, less flashy stuff, but a more stable system.

I believe Mdv 2010 has dropped KDE 3.5. So we now need to get it from unofficial repos.

I was just trying the default desktop. I prefer Gnome as my main desktop. Next I'll install the Gnome version in VB and see if it takes a long time.
