As per title, basically windowmaker does not work
in my mandriva 2007 (fresh install and not a cover dvd). It starts, you can see the icones and background in a flash, I for desktop 1 flashes
then it is like an automatic logout, and I am back to kdm

Googling reveals some problems due to 3d
I used to run 3d, but I have disabled a while ago
through drak3d. Maybe should try to disable transparency as well

I cannot get <alt><ctrl><f1> to display
properly (got garbage lines, I think it is because of the dvi plug, I need to use the vga to have txt mode working with my ati radeon 9250) to try to see what the log files may say

Does windowmaker has a dedicated log file?

This is a bit odd, so I wonder if other people
have come accros this.
Will post solution if I find one
