mdk9.2 problem: reiserfs partition on firewire drive

Everytime I booted my Mandrke 9.2 Download Edition (kernel 2.4.22-21mdk) with
/dev/sda6 /icecube/linux reiserfs defaults 1 2 entry in fstab, I got the error message saying something about the superblock was corrupted, so i had to remark the entry in maintenance mode and rebooted again.

I can mount and use the partition without any problem, reiserfsck doesn´t report any error and I didn´t encounter this problem with 9.1

I suspect the problem occured because the kernel tried to mount the drive before the firewire modules loaded.

Any idea if I have missed something?

I am thinking of putting the manual mount command in init file so it will be mounted automatically.

Am I correct to put it in rc.local ?

How about auto umount when halting / shutdown the system?

Please advise me.

I think somehow I had solved the problem,
I set the sixth fstab field to 0, like: /dev/sda6 /icecube/linux reiserfs defaults 0 0
This tell fsck to skip it when checking filesystems integrity during boot time.

Thanks folks
