MDK 10 hangs on reboot/shutdown (2.6 kernel)
I'm not sure why and I can't remember exactly when it started happening, but my computer fails to reboot or shutdown properly out of MDK10CE. It goes through all of the usual shutdown stuff correctly, but it just stops and hangs at the line "uhci_hcd 0000:00:11.2: USB bus 1 deregistered". Anybody have any ideas why this is happening and what I can do to fix it? I usually have to hit the reset button... Thanks in advance.
yeah...I'm getting the same error, but everything else works fine, so I haven't messed with anything to try and fix it yet. I've only just installed mdk10 a couple of weeks ago, and I have spent over a week trying to get my adsl running
If anyone out there knows what to do about this error, please let us know
Same here, a thought had occurred to me. What Kernel i.e. Enterprise, SMP etc.. do you guys have? I have the Enterprise kernel for some strange reason and i've wondered whether changing to another kernel such as 2.6.3.8mdk would give me back proper shutdown. I might try this and report back.
Didn't work for me the kernel fix but I was able to fix xmms - after installing all the xmms related packages I created a new link on the desktop and it works fine from that link added it to my panel and it still worked not sure why it doesn't work from the default icon on the applications menu but launched from desktop or panel it works fine. I apologize for the garbled look and bad english (typing fast at work)
Sorry to hear that the kernel fix didn't work, clearly there are other issues affecting shutdown. I can create a desktop link but I can't find where to link it to for Xmms.
