Mandrive LE2005 boots to slow.

Hello everyone,

I've just installed the Mandriva LE2005 (Download version). Everything was fine, but it takes a long time to boot. It takes more time than MDK 10.0. I've desenabled some services, but it seemed that didn't work.

Does anyone know what to do?

Thanks,
Bye.

ckota - when you boot up, press ESC for the interactive menu. This will enable you to see where and what is slowing down the boot. Let us know where it goes slow and what your computer specs are. "Slow" and "fast" are relative to the user.

Ya, you can uninstall it. Just make sure to firewall your box if you have ssh or any other net facing ports enabled asap (iptables, ect).

edit:

It would be a good idea to portscan yourself after you think everything's ok.
I do it religiously.

Mine takes about 2minutes to boot, and I am using an Intel PII 350mhz 320MB 30GB. It seems to slow down at mounting the partitions, and at the hotplug initialization, other then that it works fine.
