Mandriva spring 2007 blackscreen on install

I get blackscreen just about when mandriva is about to boot from cd...

My specs

Asrock P4V88
1GB DDR
Intel Celeron 2.8 Ghz
ATI x1950PRO Agp 512 mb

And the sad thing is and i am also suprised that it works on 6 years old machine with 212 mb ram and 1ghz cpu and radeon 9250 ...

So please help

My best "guess" is if you have a LCD monitor on your newer machine it
is getting driven beyond it specs..Try putting your older monitor on your newer machine just to get the GUI installed then edit your xorg config file so that it represents the LCD specs..Look closely at the horizontal frequency and the vertical refresh rate in Xorg and make sure that it is like the LCD monitor specs..Then switch back to the LCD monitor and see if it will boot..
