Mandriva one
 

Hi I was interested in getting Mandriva one so I went to the osdisc website and did not see it listed so I sent them an e-mail asking if they will have it soon. They said they will not have mandriva one because it has propriety software.So Im wondering what kind of software one would have that Mandriva 2008 does not have? Because they do have Mandriva 2008. Also I was wondering how long it would take to download Mandriva one? I know this would vary a lot. I go to the local library and use their wireless on the weekends to down load large programs. There wireless is about 180kbs at its top speed which varies depending on how many people are on the computers. They complain if people are downloading
real large programs, because the librarian says It makes her computer to slow. So any help would be appreciated. Thanks Dan

The Mandriva One versions include some proprietary graphics drivers. What I find surprising is that Osdic complain about Mandriva One containing proprietary stuff when Ubuntu also contains proprietary drivers, but its listed on their site. The Mandriva One discs tend to be about 698 MBs so they would take a long time to download at the speed you mentioned.

I found a used mandriva one on amazon.com for $1.99. Maybe I will go that route.Thanks Dan
