Mandriva losing DNS address

I'm using a fixed IP addressing system in my LAN, but the Mandriva system is not retaining the address of the DNS server (my router), causing me to have to re-enter it in MCC after each boot.

Is there a config file somewhere I can try editing? (sorry, don't know my way around yet)

/etc/resolv.conf

If nothing helps, create /etc/resolv.conf.my, write needed
Code:
nameserver <DNS IP address>
lines into it, put the line 'cp /etc/resolv.conf.my /etc/resolv.conf' in a new script located in /etc/init.d (if it doesn't exist - in /etc/rc.d/init.d) and create a link to it named S99<script name you have chosen> in /etc/rc3.d , /etc/rc2.d and /etc/rc5.d .

Thanks for that. Fortunately the problem was resolved by deleting and recreating the connection.

I'm glad your problem was easier to solve than it seemed from description.

Yes, but it has highlighted a weakness in 'Configure your computer' where, working as root, it offers to allow you to change your DNS addresses. Unfortunately it then forgets to save the changes....

If you are able to reproduce this problem, you should make a bug report on bugzilla so it gets fixed in a future release.
