Mandriva LE2005 Hangs during Install
 

Hi All,

I downloaded the DVD image and have been trying to install with no sucess. The install hangs at apparently random points in the process

Gigabyte GA-7-N400Pro 2
1 Gb RAM
40 Gb HDD
Nvidia FX5200 Video card.

Mouse still work, nothing responds

Tried Text install same deal :-(

Any ideas gratefully received.

Did you check the MD5SUM on your DVD burn?

Hi KC,

Thanks yes I did, and they matched and I got Nero to verify the DVD after it was written.

I don't know why this should make a difference, however I have a KVM switch and eventually got the install to complete by not switching to another machine during the install. Normally using the switch makes no difference to anything but maybe this time it did.

Anyway, this morning (after midnight) I finally got it to install and now I just have to get the NVidia driver to install properly.
