For some reason when i start the mandriva control center it takes around 9 seconds at the splash screen before starting. I have looked at videos of mandriva on youtube and the control center seems to load pretty fast. This is my only problem with an otherwise great 2008.1 release, any ideas?

you mention this is the only problem....I was thinking your hardware was towards the minimum required?

what is your specs especially cpu....total ram...

2) maybe its a glitch in your xorg.conf ...what is your video card or onboard....and what have you configged it as

3) if it is hw or config...you are likely to have a crash log in your home dir called
/.xsession-errors....I do...its looking for a qt file but I am not installing it.

hw may show glitches in /var/log/syslog?

4) does this happen all the time or near your boot up....if you have low ram....and cron is trying to complete some big jobs you will have a slow down
