Mandriva boot question

Hey, I'm new to linux and I'm not sure what is going on. I installed the download edition of Mandriva and everything went fine. The only problem is that when I boot up Mandriva it goes to a commandline and shows my internet username and asks for my login and password. Once I log in it just stays at the command line. Can anyone tell me how to actually boot into the GUI?
Thanks.

Angry same problem here

hey there guys, how you doing? Well I hope. Listen, I'm having the same trouble. Now I've been using Mandrake 10.0 official for about a year now with no trouble at all. Then all of a sudden last week, I go to a website that refused to load so I killed it (ctrl alt esc) Then started having trouble with my kde desktop (kde 3.2). Once I killed the browser (I had just installed the latest firefox browser) I couldn't click on anything on the desktop. Anything I clicked on would flash up on the screen but then instantly disappear. So I rebooted my computer. From then on, I get a command line at startup that isn't my /home/username folder. Instead the command line is my browser internet name ie: <username>@comcast. So I logon using my username and then have to type in my password. I've tried getting into my desktop by typing in "startx" but I get an error message that reads "command not found". So I logon as root and type either "startx" or "kde" and can get a gui but not from my home folder. So how can I fix this so that when I start my box up I go straight to my home desktop instead of having to login as root? If I've forgotten any critical info please post and I will reply. Hopefully, this is all the info needed to get my box fixed and running properly again. Thanks guys.
