Mandriva 2009.1 Audio issue
Hi all,
I installed mandriva-2009.1(spring) a week ago and the sound was working without ne problems.
But since last two days all of a sudden the sound is gone.Can any body tell me what must be
the problem and how to fix it. Please help . No MUSIC since two days !!!!!

This is probably stupid, but every single audio issue I've ever had in Mandriva is because of pulseaudio. I disable it and all is well.

I was having problem with no sound as well & disabling pulse did not work for me. I found this message on Mandriva's forum & it worked for me.

Does this mean that alsa aint running ??

That says that alsa is off in all seven run levels. The ones you should be most interested in are three (the CLI run level) and five (the GUI run level).

Finally i managed to get to this

Also the kmix is now showing 100% volume.
My motherboard is asus m2n32-SLI Deluxe wireless,which has onboard Soundmax audio card. But the Kmix mixer is showing HDA NVIDIA
But still no sound.
