You should be using bittorent (I am getting ~ 70 kb/s down and 40 kb/s up).
Not a lot of seeders so if you get a chance to have a ratio of ~1.1 to 1.3
that would help

Out of curiosity do you find it faster than just ftp'ing?

The idea is to get BT to take the heat, and
give a chance to mirror to work under less load later on.
I think this is a great idea, rather than everybody
banging on mirrors at the same time

When I try and download it, mandriva sends me here:
http://www.mandriva.com/en/download/mandrivaone

which is serving up a blank page. Any ideas?

yeah, w3bd3vil, I'm getting the mind-numbingly slow BitTorrent download. I understand that they don't want their FTP servers being bludgeoned with requests, but from my experience, a majority of people are more than likely to use BitTorrent.

I've left my Mandriva 2007 torrent going for about 2 days now, and I'm only at 8.1%....wtf is that!? (PS. I'm downloading the DVD torrent, not the Mandriva One torrent).

I can't use the Mandriva One CD because I need any and all packages supplied with Mandriva; not just some - to install across several different boxes, all without networking. And the DVD just makes it a billion times easier.

So what could be an amazing release is held short for w3bd3vil and myself due to horrifically slow downloads.

EDIT: Emmanuel_uk, I don't think Mandriva is offering any other method of downloading, other than through torrents. I spent the better part of a day looking, but couldn't find any mirror sites - everything just re-directs to download the torrent.

FWIW, I did my install from an ftp server over the WEB.

Navigate to '.../official/2007.0/i586/install/images' on your favorite ftp mirror. I use the proxad.net server here so the full URI will be:

'ftp://ftp.proxad.net/mirrors/ftp.mandriva.com/MandrivaLinux/official/2007.0/i586/install/images'

Download 'boot.img'.

Burn 'boot.img' to CD as an ISO image.

Boot the computer on which you want to install 2007.0 using the CD just burned.

Select the ftp option. Use DHCP (or enter your computer's IP address if DHCP is not available), no proxy (unless your connection requires it).

Enter the server address: 'ftp.proxad.net'

Enter the path: 'mirrors/ftp.mandriva.com/MandrivaLinux/official/2007.0/i586'

The installer will be downloaded and started on your computer. The installation process is the same as with the CD install from here on although you will have delays while the program downloads the media info data and then downloads the packages to be installed.

Alternatively, you can go to 'ftp://ftp.proxad.net/mirrors/ftp.mandriva.com/MandrivaLinux/official/iso/2007.0/CD' to get the three CD's for the free version, or 'ftp://ftp.proxad.net/mirrors/ftp.mandriva.com/MandrivaLinux/official/iso/2007.0/One' to get the one version of your choice, or 'ftp://ftp.proxad.net/mirrors/ftp.mandriva.com/MandrivaLinux/official/iso/2007.0/DVD' for the DVD image.

HTH,
