Mandriva 2006 does not recognize USB

After I upgrade from LE 2005 to Mandriva 2006, it does not recognize USB devices like memory stick or MP3 player. Any ideas what might be happening? Thanks.

If you plug in a usb device, click on the media icon on the desktop and you should see your usb device mounted on /mnt/removable.

Well, actually I don't see /mnt/removable at all.

Did you click on the media (or devices) icon. If a usb device is plugged in, it should show up and if you click on it, it gets mounted on /mnt/removeable.

It works somehow. I reupgraded the system again and it now functions well. Although I don't have the Devices icon on the ldesktop. Do you know how I could get it back? Thanks.
