You can get it here:

I think it'd be RC1 rather than beta 4, the unofficial deadline(they say they dont keep any, but....) for the official version is nearing.

futurist 09-08-2005 07:12 PM

yeah , it is RC1, doex it mean it is the final, is it safe to install it?

abattoir 09-08-2005 10:22 PM

Nope, It is a "Release Candidate", which means it is more stable than a beta, however it may still have some issues, you can expect maybe even one more RC (RC2) after which 2006 final would be out.

futurist 09-08-2005 10:42 PM

ok, then i shall wait

Micro420 09-09-2005 12:38 PM

I REALLY wish they would release these Release candidates onto a DVD format. They are always on 3 CD's. Do you guys know if it's possible to just copy those 3 CD's onto 1 DVD?

JockeTF 09-09-2005 03:27 PM

well...

@futurist
There is a script which converts the 3 cd isos into a dvd iso, search for it, if you cant find it post back.

Mandriva 2006 really looks promising, finally you get the latest stable KDE, I hope they include OpenOffice.org 2.0 and Firefox 1.5(If both are released in time) :)

Guess I will have to look for the script that converts the 3 CD's to a DVD.

that's all for now.

abattoir 09-10-2005 05:12 AM

Oh sorry Micro420, i thought futurist had asked about the cd isos.

I did some "looking around", OpenOffice.org 2 beta will be included with Mandriva 2006(if a stable version is not released), I dont know about firefox though, hopefully there'd be an update for Firefox 1.5, the beta is awesome :D.

Yes, it SAYS they have the DVD's, but when I log in Mandriva club, the download torrents only has up to Beta 2 and that has the DVD, but there is no RC1 with DVD. Are you a club member yourself? Can you show me where on the Mandriva club site that actually has the RC1 DVD????
