Mandrake Server,Cant FTP & cant connect on LAN

Hi guys,

I was testing out Mandrake 9.2 on my friend's pc and installed it as a server.Everything is workin fine but the only problems is the Server wont except any LOCAL CONNECTIONS from LAN (eg. 192.168.*.* ) it seems like it doesnt response to it and the ftp is not working it kinda suck cause i cant do anything about it cause the pc is in my friends house.I've tried checking out the firewall settings and even tried switching it off,but still it doesnt work.On the control center,it says that all the services are running including the ftp.Anyone faced this situation before?or any solutions to it?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like its a connectivity problem, are you able to ping? Also have you checked to see if the port is listening?
