mandrake kernel panic on install
 

hi there guys
I am not completely new to linux. I am a big fan of mandrake 10.1. I have installed it on a few pc's with no problem.

Today however I was attempting to install this on a pc but when I booted up from the cd it gave me an error about kernel panic

<0>Kernel Panic: Attempted to kill the idle task!
In idle task - not syncing

on a second machine It says that "no cdrom found"
these 2 problems are really hounding me

Maybe your disk has become corrupted.
