My sister has a Dell Dimension L with a PIII @ 866MHz, 128MB SDRAM PC133 and onboard video. I installed Mandrake Linux 9.2 on it already and it ran very well. She did need to reinstall Windows ME due to she forgot a password she set on Internet Explorer and couldn't surf the web at all! I tried to reinstall ME for her but I kept getting a "Disk I/O Error" when trying to complete reinstallation after reboot. Mandrake had no problems. She ended up calling a Dell representative and told me she had to enter some weird codes with a Resource CD in order to reinstall Windows.
My question: Would there be a problem if resized her drive to make room for Mandrake? Would the Dell freak out and refuse to boot Windows? And no, just using Linux is not an option, as perfect as that solution sounds

. If anyone has any experience I would greatly appreciate it. I would prefer to know before I attempt the install.
