mandrake 9.2 rc2

Hi all,

I have tried tpo install mdk9.2 rc2, all is well!

Downloaded all new cooker RPMS files which are newer.

System restarted perfect.

Thenb recompiled kernel with acpi on (like on old 9.1)
and after make modules_install I gave MAKE INSTALL and then lilo is giving an error.

It is NOT possible to change LILO! Not with the System Configuartion Tool, not with changing lili.conf in etc/,
and also Configer Your Desktop then System then Boot Manager (LILO) can not solve the problem.

Already reinstalled the system twice!

I'am running 9.2 on three production machines with all update with no problems. Everything running smoothly.

Well

I booted into 9.2 once. It wouldn't let me install any more packages. Booted to 9.1 and ain't been back.

Oh, when I tried to upgrade9.1 with 9.2, it died 10 seconds before finishing. Killed it dead. Started over. Boy was I  .

Yes, I have installed Mandrake many a times with no problems. I pretty much know what I'm doing.

Later

:D :D :D :D

lynch is right. release candidates are NOT finished releases. they are NOT for production systems. If you encounter problems with 9.2rc2, try to find out if the bug has been reported, if not, report it. if you know how to fix it, report that as well.

After you made changes to /etc/lilo.conf did you run /sbin/lilo as root to make the changes effective?

Hell,I didnt even have a KDE menu:D .Of course, all I had to do was Alt-F2>mmc>menudrake and save it and I got my menu.
That,s the only thing I've found so far other than setting up software sources which I can do any time.
