Angry Mandrake 9.2 Freezes

I've recently installed Mandrake 9.2 on my main machine, however every so often everything just freezes and the only way out is to hit the reset button!!!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to start trouble shooting this?

It doesn't have any recognisable pattern nor is it liked to running any particular software, this problem has no prejudices!!!!

It is however making the machine unuseable, as I can probably only work for 10 or may be 20 minutes before it all locks up!

H E L P!!!!!

Thanks

Jonathan

Ahh I had the same problems a few days ago. Check http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...045#post820045 for a possible solution. Works charms for me
Or if you don't want to reinstall, go to kde menu/configuration/configure your computer, go to the boot section and hit next. Once in the advanced tab where you get all the possible options, select the one you use to boot and hit modify. In the append box, add noapic nolapic, then save everything and reboot. You should stop having those madening lock ups

I downloaded all updates after installing last night. There were a number of packages upgraded to fix bugs like the one you experience in kdebase and Xfree. I recommend you install the 'bug fixes' section.
