Mandrake 9.1 Boot Problem

I had a dual boot setup with 9.1 and Windows ME that worked fine for several months. Then I tried to install Wine and screwed up the Windows partition beyond repair. Fortunately, I had a relatively recent Windows partition on another disk and using Partition Commander I was able to install this without too much updating.

While I was doing this I repartitioned the disks and now Lilo cant find Mandrake. It is still there intact as I can see it with Partition Commander, but it does not have the same relative location so I get the kernel panic.

I would appreciate it if someone could tell me the best way to get Mandrake back without screwing up Windows again.

Try creating a Knoppix CD so you have a look a round your Mandrake partition you might spot what the problem is an then fix it. See www.knoppix.com

I appreciate the reply but I must be missing something. I downloaded the Knoppix iso, burned it to a CD and all I seem to have is a single, massive iso file that won't boot. According to the Knoppix site this is supposed to be a bootable disk.

Use Nero Burning and you will have no problem or check this site:
