I am running mandrake 10.0-cooker and When I installed the 2.6 kernel, X wouldn't start because I didn't have agpgart support. My graphics card is an intel 810. What is messed up?

My network card is a 3com supported by the 3c59x driver and the upgrade to kernel 2.6 breaks my internet. I have a router/gateway configured for dhcp. when I do ifup eth0 it says I have a cable unplugged. My cable is fine and my internet works (w/o touching the cable) on a 2.4 kernel
I just figured out the network problem. I bet if you opened up Mandrake control center and selected internet and then 'new connection', that you'd find that your settings are still there. Once you set up the connection again, it'll work. I think its a hotplug or hardware detection issue. If you check your /var/log messages I bet you'll find that your ethernet module loads early on in the boot, but the interface will fail. Do an ifconfig. I bet you'll see you don't have a connection. Here's my solution: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...367#post751367

might want to check you kernel config, there is now an option for chipset agp modules... for instance i have a via chips set,
I have two agp modules
agpgart & via-agp, both of these are required. Might want to check and make sure you included your chipset and have the chipset module loaded as well as agpgart.
