Mandrake 10 and Windows XP

I have a home network with 2 computers, one running mandrake 10.0 official and the other running windows xp. I have samba running on the mandrake box properly configured (I think) so that I can access shares and printers that I have on the windows xp box.

I have a windows xp share mounted under mnt/MUSIC and it works fine and here is the question:

Why, when I reboot the windows xp, samba goes crazy and even though the windows xp box reboots completely and is avaialble again the mounted drive is not accessible until I restart the mandrake box. Restarting samba does not fix the problem?

does any body has any idea why this happens and if it can be solved.

Specs:

Mandrake 10.0
Kernel 2.6.3-15
Samba 3.0.2a

Thanks

Just to start can you try an experiment:

In your Windows can you disable your webclient service to see if helps?

/Control Pannel/Administrative Tools/Services/WebClient

Do you have an explanation why I should do this? I'll try it when I get home.....

I tried it

and did not work. the linux box looses the connection to the mounted share if the windows xp computer is rebooted and will not restablish it once the windows computer is back online...
