Mandrake 10.1 Postfix / IMAP HowTo
 

Frustrated ... :confused:

Is anywhere in the world a complete HOWTO for Mandrake 10.1, Postfix and IMAP installation ???

I searched thousends of sites on woogle :study: - but nothing especially for Mandrake 10.1

Does anybody have a complete tutorial or a link ???

After 2 weeks woogle searching and tutorials reading I´ll hope that somebody can help me.

Hi - yes but there the SMTP-Auth and SSL is not described. Additional I don´t want to create accounts for SMTP-users - simply want to store them in a hash file. And that´s what I´m searching for since weeks.

The Postfix works well, but SMTP-Auth and SSL still missing. .... :-(

Each time I insert in main.cf the parameter:

smtpd_sasl_auth_enable = yes

postfix starts well. But when I try to connect via SMTP Port 25 telnet nothing happens and in the warning logfile I find:

warning: process /usr/lib/postfix/smtpd pid 17439 exit status 1
warning: /usr/lib/postfix/smtpd: bad command startup -- throttling

and error file tells me:

fatal: no SASL authentication mechanisms

If I disable the fatal: no SASL authentication mechanisms parameter and try telnet 25 connect it works well.

Need help please.

There is a SASL Documentation section right on the postfix website. Have you looked at that? http://www.postfix.org/SASL_README.html
