I recently changed my splash screen and now my computer start in command mode. I can run startx to get to the graphical enrivonment, but the display does not take up my entire screen and i have to scroll to see each edge. I am a newbie, any suggestions?

Do you mean the splash screen you see when you are booting?
Whan you manage to get X loaded again, run the Mandrake Control Centre (MCC) and under the Boot --> Autologin option check that there is a tick next to 'Launch the graphical environment when your system starts'. In the boot menu you can change the boot splash screen as well. Also, you may want to re-run the config tool for your videocard, you should be able to do this from the MCC, under Hardware --> Hardware[sic] and it should have detected your videocard down the left hand side. Click on it and run the config tool for it. Check the settings are correct. HTH |
HTH,
Thanks for the help. Your suggestions led me right to a solution. ; When I changed my boot splash screen it changed my resolution and changed the graphical boot option. This doesn't make much sense, but at least I will know next time. Thanks again for your help. David |
