Not sure why I am replying to this post. If you knew enough to know how to unhide the graphical root login I would assume you would know that giving a user root privilages would totally defeat the security model. The idea is self defeating so to speak. Anyway if you want full root privilage why bother logging in as a user? Login as root if you want to be root. I won't bother to express the million reasons why you should not do this, as using the search function in this forum will learn you a few. The closest I would suggest is login as a regular user and if you have a bunch of stuff to do needing root privilage su once and leave the terminal window open till you are done all your crap. After you su, all commands you type and all programs you start in that terminal session will have root privilage until you type exit to leave superuser mode.

ok I have the same problem... I need to log on to kde as root so I can edit my hlds server files with ease instead of typing in su in the counsel and mv to move files around and wget to download files to my cstrike dir..I dont want to spend hours typing in mv de_morningstar /home/user/hlds_1/cstrike/maps/ then mv what ever.mdl /home/user/hlds_1/cstrike/mdls/..when I got a few hundred maps to install..see my point..I much rather just drag and drop while im installing them...all I want to do is save some time....after I set up amx mod x and meta mod and install my maps I will not boot in to kde, ill just sit the box in the coroner and ssh to my box....come on their are many reason to want to log on to the session as root...only a moron would destroy his/her sys cfg..so if there is a way to do this please let me know I am also using mdk 10.1..It would be a big time saver..... by the way Ive been using linux for less than a week...
