Mandrake's wierd "apache"

I'm a Mandrake 9.2 user but I'm trying to switch to another distro because Mandrake uses some wierd version of Apache with different crap in it's config file and other such nonsense. I want regular old normal apache the way god intended hehe. I had to just compile the regular apache myself, and then therefore compile PHP from scratch since it depends on Apache, etc, etc, etc,. Once you fall out of the RPM chain, you're doomed I guess.

Two questions-

Does Mandrake 10 still have that freaky ridiculous version of Apache?

If so, what distro should I run if I like everything else about Mandrake? Redhat? I've heard Suse is a lot like Mandrake?

Mandrake 9 sure does have a weird apache. I dont know about 10...
I, too, like mandrake but not it's weird apache. Since MDK is based on redhat, RH may be your best bet - Redhat uses a standard configuration for apache.

good luck!

Yea my problem with fedora is that it does some wacky crap to the parition table when it writes the boot block. Partitionmagic freaks out about it and can't read the drive, etc..

I just can't find a distro!!!! Maybe suse? suse is redhat based too... I'll try it out.
