For full internet connectivety I need to set my MTU to 1460, I can do this through the ifconfig command but upon reboot it goes back to 1500. How do I go about making change permenent?

It can be passed via /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ethX

where ethX is the interface you want to change.

Check the man pages or scripts for allowable entries...

Hint: Look at /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifup-*
