cat (couldnt resist )
Really, if you have mpegs of the same type (framerate, sample frequence and so on) you can
'cat 1.mpg 2.mpg 3.mpg 4.mpg > BigFile.mpg'

bunnadik's way is the easiest, if all the criteria are met... If not, you can use DVD::Rip to get them the same.

There's also these two programs, Cinelerra and Kino, that I've heard good things about, but have never used. They are actually video editing programs.

Let us know how it goes for you,

I use DVD Rip extensively. make sure to check on DVD rip settings to make sure that all dependencies (programs) are met and tyhat you have everythign that you need installed. all the subtitles ripping software, dvd/cd writing command line components. etc.

you have to remember that DVD rip is just a frontend to a set of commandline tools. If you don't have them or the front end does nto know where to find them it will not work. It is the same approach that Auto Gk (for windows uses).
