linux xwindows wont start
 

,i am new to linux mandrake 7.2
i get the login and password in but i dont know the line command to startr up kde xwindow interface

startx should start X from the command line. You'll want to look at getting KDM working to give you a nice graphical login screen

Mandrake 7.2 is very old and probably does not have the correct drivers for your video adapter and other newer hardware.

If you want to stay with Mandrake try Mandriva 2007.
