linux mandrake, i can't go to the graphic display

hi!
I installed mandrake 10 (by Microsoft virtual machine), but i don't know how to go to graphic display (desktop), when i start it i only get the commands line.

what i have to do?

do you have your X server configured?

try typing "X" (without quotes) and see what that does

If you get a command prompt, try logging in, then do:

startx

If the X server is installed and configured, you should get a GUI.

If you get error that you must be the root user, do:

su <enter root password>

startx

try logging as root, and then do this command:

xf86cfg

If you have installed X server, you can execute this command
to configure the desktop
