limit the size of logs


Hello,
it seems that i have a problem with my /var/log
The size of thid directory (folder) is about 6 GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any clue how to limit the size of each file inside ?

Logrotate

Logrotate is not happening or you are gettin a lot of error from some app.

Check if cron is running cause cron is what that rotates the logs periodically.

I am not so comfortable with mandrake but in redhat i check if services crond and syslogd are ruinning.

Also are u running any applications like apache or squid?

It is stupid I don't know why crond wad unchecked on my board
I erased some gz and now everything seems ok ---up to now
