LE2005 compatible with Athlon64 ?
 

Hi

I would like to try linux and I have dl mandriva le2005. But after F1 + linux -> black screen and nothing else. I have tried option such as noapic... and also the text mode (freeze after "Initializing Cryptographic API"). The cd are good.
I have browsed several forums and found peoples with the same pb, but without solution. I have remarked that it was always with and Athlon 64 (and that's what I have).
So there is an incompatibility with this CPU ? I have not found a specific FREE edition for x86-64 bit. So no mandriva for me ?

PS: my config:
CPU: Athlon64 3Ghz
MB: Asus K8V-X
HD: MatroxUDMA133 120Go
Gfx: GeForce4 MX420

Take a look at this page on the Mandriva website. There is a link to the 64 bit version.

Great ! I just didn't read the bottom of the download page. With the x86-64 version it seems to work perfectly.
