Hi,
I am using a toshiba satellite with Mandriva Live 2007. I am using KLaptop and it seems to work fine. However, some one told me about kpowersaver and how it is a better power management system, so i used urpmi to install it. But although after running it i can see the icon (the power plug) in the system tray, when i click on it nothing happens i-e., no application starts.... how am i supposed to configure it if it does not open any window..????
and secondly do i actually need kpowersaver ? i mean is Klaptop sufficient or is Kpowersaver really a major improvement on it ??
Also is there some utility that can control the brightness of the LCD, like in windows there are toshiba power profiles that can control the brightness of the LCD for enhancing battery life?
Thnx
For me a right click on the kpowersave system tray icon brings up a menu, with a configure option. Haven't heard of any dynamic LCD brightness scaling.
I read some where on the web about a utility KToshiba... that lets you do that..i'll look into it and then report back here if i figure something out.
Thnx
