Hi there, when I click the icon in the panel it show`s the note I made, if there are no notes I get a little tooltip that says `no notes`
If I right click it, I get a menu.

Thanks aerogate. Here is my problem....
I have always added knotes to my panel by right-clicking the panel > Add to panel >Application>Office>Accessories> Knotes.
This adds the icon to the panel. Since MDK 9.0 - MDK 10.0, I could launch knotes with this panel shortcut, and another knotes icon would appear in the system tray (where the volume icon ,etc. are) along with a blank note on the desktop.
From MDK10.2 - MDV2006, Kontakt (not knotes alone) opens up with a small error window on top of it that states: "KDEInit could not launch 'Kontakt-knotes.sh', and the Knotes icon never appears in the system tray.
I just discovered that I can get knotes to work if I open a terminal and type knotes.
If I can't get it to work with a shortcut icon on the panel, how do I get it to work at startup, so that I don't have to open a terminal????
I appreciate your help aerogate and help from all others.

When I use Kmenu/Office/Accessories/Knotes, in both MDV2005LE on my desktop and in MDV2006 on my laptop, Kontakt opens up. On the title bar of the Kontakt window it says Notes-Kontakt.

Thanks so much aerogate. I am very impressed with your video and the time and trouble you took for me. Wow!
When I do it like the video in both MDV05LE and MDV06, I get Kontakt coming up and not the knotes in the systray with a yellow note on the desk.
However, Good News! I discovered a workaround. I only have to do this once: open a terminal and type "knotes" (without the quotes) and Knotes sits in the system tray next to the volume icon for yellow sticky notes. When I reboot or boot the computer now into MDVxxxx, it is already there on startup.
