I have version 0.7.6, and I'm trying to add the datacode to the bottom of a DV video file. I was told by somebody on the usenet to use the filter called "titler."
Too bad it doesn't exist.
So... I'm looking for a newer version of Kino.
I would like the RPMs since I apparently suck at actually compiling. ALl I get is dependency Hell. Arg!
Code:
hecking for X11/extensions/XShm.h... yes
checking for XInitExtension in -lXext... yes
checking for XvQueryAdaptors in -lXv... yes
checking for LIBXML2... configure: error: Package requirements (libxml-2.0) were not met:
Package libxml-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libxml-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'libxml-2.0' found
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables LIBXML2_CFLAGS
and LIBXML2_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.
Thanks for your post. Being curiuous, for mandy 2005 urpmi came with 0.7.5
(I mean from all the repositeries I have selected)
# urpmq kino -i
Name : kino
Version : 0.7.5
Release : 3mdk
Group : Video
Size : 2203831 Architecture: i586
Source RPM : koffice-i18n-af-1.3.5-1mdk.src.rpm Build Host: n5.mandrakesoft.com
Packager : Montel Laurent <lmontel@mandrakesoft.com>
URL : http://www.kde.org/
Summary : GNOME DV-editing utility
Right, 0.75 is not that good, actually.
It is missing some key features that I want, for example titler. Putting text in the frame. Too bad i can't get the date to appear, not can I get iit to export to mpeg.
ALso, in the newer version, things are built in, rather than being external packages.
