Hi, I've just got a logitech MX 3200 keyboard and I've found that severals keys aren't available (they don't show any event with xev). Do you know any good keyboard configurator that work with mandriva 2009.1 + gnome 2.26.1?
Try using the evdev driver in your xorg config. That usually recognizes all input events.
When you use evdev, you may have to switch your DE's keyboard layout to "evdev handled" or something like that, or else you'll get mis-mapped keys. I know kde has that choice, but I'm not 100% sure about gnome.
If I have KPackage check for "evdev", I get the following:
Quote:
xserver-xorg-input-evdev
summary - X.Org X server -- evdev input driver
version - 1:1.1.2-6
status - install ok installed
description
This package provides the driver for input devices using evdev, the Linux kernel's event delivery mechanism. This driver allows for multiple keyboards and mice to be treated as separate input devices, and matched on physical attributes such as which USB port they're connected to. ...
(I have included the description for those who might find it useful.)
KPackage says it's already installed ("status - install ok installed").
There is no sign of it in /etc/X11/xorg.conf:
Code:
$ grep 'evdev' /etc/X11/xorg.conf
$
What's the next step; or, maybe better, what's the next step for those who need to install it?
