kernel panic when trying to install 64bit mandrivia

i got a 64 bit semprom and im running mandrive power pack, and i would like to install 64 bit version...
i have the standard bootload thing there on cd(the one that came from the 32 bit version), witch works great, exept when im trying to install mandrivia 64, witch is a nfs dvd iso...
do i need a special boot loader/installation startup disk?
oh and my bios dosent say anywere that i have a 64 cpu witch i think is kind of strang...

Distribution: Mandriva mostly, vector 5.1, tried many.Suse gone from HD because bad Novell/Zinblows agreement

I wish I could help with the 64 bits, but have never tried.
Anyway did you check the motherboard manufacturer to see
if you needed a bios update? I doubt your problem is there, but worth checking.
Is there any other messages before the kernel panic?
