kernel panic EVERY time new kernel installed


Hi,

I have just got mandrake 9 finally installed on my computer (had it 4 2 years ) but whenever I upgrade the kernel following the guidelines to the letter I always get a

mount error 19. Kernel panic. unable to find init. please pass command init= to kernel

then it freezes. its happenend on 2.6 and 2.6.1.

any advice greatly appreciated.

I think this exact question has been answered no less than 15 times in the last week, try searching the forums for "kernel panic".

Simply doing this just got me 452 topics about kernel panic.
