NO!

you dont need to install grub. I used LILO and GRUB because it was not clear to me what state your system is in.

Boot from the LiveCD (linux CDROM) and when booted , open a terminal and enter the "cat /proc/partitions" command.

Resolving this may need us to liaise a bit, and move forwards slowl, but we will get there
