kernel compilation problem in Mandrake 10.1
 

Hi!

I was trying to compile the 2.4.27 kernel in Mandrake 10.1. The kernel and modules compilation process went ok, then I installed modules, configured lilo and rebooted the system. But after choosing the newly compiled kernel in lilo at boot time monitor just died out, hdd stopped. I found no information in log-files on this problem. I'm completely confused. Any ideas?

successfully compiled kernel is not the same as working kernel.
try to compile it again, try try :)
