kernel 2.6.5 and sound modules
hi,
i have kernel 2.6.5. the default sound module is snd-intel8x0 (ALSA). however, there is just no sound at all, even without any error messages. so i tried harddrake and picked the driver i810_audio (OSS), then sound worked. could it be because of the "remove snd-intel8x0" in /etc/modprobe.conf?
alias ieee1394-controller ohci1394
alias eth0 8139too
alias sound-slot-0 snd-intel8x0
install snd-intel8x0 /sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install snd-intel8x0 &
& { /sbin/modprobe snd-pcm-oss; /bin/true; }
install usb-interface /sbin/modprobe usb-uhci; /sbin/modprobe ehci-hcd; /bin/tru
e
remove snd-intel8x0 { /sbin/modprobe -r snd-pcm-oss; } ; /sbin/modprobe -r --fir
st-time --ignore-remove snd-intel8x0
i believe that alsa is better than oss, so how can i fix this?
thanks.
