I just thought I'd share with the Mandrake users that surf around here but I have the Kernel 2.6.1 TMB (Thomas Buckland) rpm up built for MDK 9.2 by a friend of mine, its the i686up4GB so you need to have an i686 machine and it this kernel has preemption* so it runs very nicely. You should download all the files on under "Mandrake 9.2 Kernels" to get it to work.
*Preemption is the ability for user processes to override kernel processes to make the machine seem to run smoother, this kernel is not server friendly, only desktop.
*NOTE: Use this kernel at your own discretion and it is recommended that you keep your other kernels installed just in case this kernel does not work out for you. You have been warned.

http://minion.de <-- has patched drivers for those of you with Nvidia cards that want to use it with 2.6.1.
