KDevelop fails to launch ctags

After installing KDevelop 3.3.4 (and its 134 dependencies) I find that code completion doesn't works after typing '.'
When I try to regenerate the tags database (tab ctags in lower border) I get the following:

ctags -R --c++-types=+px --excmd=pattern --exclude=Makefile --exclude=.
unrecognized option '--c++-types=+px'
Try ctags --help for a complete list of options
*** exitted with status 1 ***

I suspect having installed the wrong ctags version, but installation went automatically with no or little packages to choose. I answered yes to all questions during install.
My KDE is 3.5.4

BTW typing 'ctags --version' from Konsole I receive:
ctags (GNU Emacs 21.4.19)
Copyright (C) 1999 Free Software Foundation, Inc. and Ken Arnold
This program is distributed under the same terms as Emacs

anyone could help?

There are 2 ctags!
Please check your /usr/bin/ctags and /usr/bin/etags
You should install exuberant-ctags, and replace the above files with symlinks.
