KDE logout screen - where is it?

After searching, I haven't found anyone else with an issue on this:

- When I first fire up Mandrake and KDE, for the logout screen I get this plain window with precisely two buttons:
- "Log out"
- "Cancel"

If I then log out and log back IN to KDE, when I try to logout again, I get this cute l'il dragon and THREE choices:
- "Log out"
- shut down computer
- restart computer

Quite frankly, I could care less about whether or not when I click on "Logout" I get the cute l'il dragon (not that I have anything AGAINST "cute l'il dragons", as long as they're housebroken and don't have the hiccups), it's the ability to choose Shut Down The Computer from the Logout prompt that I want.

Anybody else encounter this, and been annoyed enough to actually DO something about it?

Gomen nasai, I know I'm going to sound like a complete moron.... change it where? What's the file name/location?

(Yep, I was right. I sounded like a complete moron.)

Hmmm mandy 9.1. I think... mcc->hardware->display manager. I managed to fix your problem by disabling autologin though.

Why doesn't Mdk give the cute dragon?

I wondered about the same thing with Mandrake 9.1: sometimes on Ctrl-Alt-Del, it would show only "logout/cancel", and sometimes it would show the cute little dragon, with the choice of "shutdown", "reboot", and "logout" depending on whether you pressed C-A-Del, C-A-PgUp, or C-A-PgDn.

It seems that when you auto-login, it doesn't give you the option to shut down, unless you log out again. To make me feel better, I told myself that it was actually a security feature.

Then I installed Mdk 9.2, and I always got the cute dragon.

So, I still don't know why it didn't show the cute dragon in 9.1. If this problem shows up again in 9.2 or 10.0, I have no idea how to fix it.

When I wanted to turn off the computer, I'd su -c "halt" or something.

It's actually a bug in Mandy 9.1 and it's autologin feature.
The problem doesn't exist in Mandy 10.

Bug in 9.1, cured by 10.0? Great!!

As bugs go, it's incredibly minor. I've got an upgrade to 10.0 coming up very shortly, that resolves that issue nicely.

...that is, as long as the dragon is housebroken and isn't subject to sneezing fits...
