KDE 3.3 Menus

Does anyone know a quick-way to change KDE3.3's default menus with the ones used by MDK10.0 (menudrake vs. kmenuedit)? The kde3.3 is compiled from sources, being installed alongside kde 3.2, the one shipped with MDK10.0OE.

I don't think you can because the KDE menu structure in Mandrake is only available if you build rpms using Mandrake rpm .spec files. If you buid KDE from source, you just have to use the default menus.

Given the fact that there is the "menudrake" app, I take it it modifies a file somewhere so kde3.2 would notice the changes and modify the menus accordingly (perhaps after a kbuildsycoca?). If i knew which file it was, maybe I could've copied the items from one file to another (and hopefully not crash the poor sucker).

So, rephrasing the question... Where is the menu config file for KDE3.2? I know that WindowMaker's is in ~/GnuStep/Defaults/WMRootMenu or something like this.

Ok, what I meant was that, where an application is placed in the Manrake menu is specified when you build an rpm. So KDE is not reading where you should put the item in the menu, but it's rpm that does that job and thats why in Mandrake 9.2 a problem with rpm messed up Mandrake menu's whenever you installed or updated software. Mandrake has an rpm called menu, you may want to look at the files it places on your system, maybe it'll give you a clue on how to achieve your objective.

Move or rename ~/.config/menus/applications-kmenuedit.menu then copy the contents of ~/.kde/share/applnk-mdk into ~/.kde/share/applnk and then run kmenuedit.

Ok, Tormented, it seems it works 10x :)... Well.. it kind-of works... KMenuEdit concatenated the two menus, but i was able to delete the "extras", only thing left to do is set the icons straight ;)
