KDE 3.1.4 and 9.2, using tex's 9.1 rpms or from an upgrade

I am thinking about putting 9.2 back on here for another go. But, I'd rather have kde 3.1.4 for reasons posted elsewhere. I was wondering if anyone has tried using tex's 3.1.4 rpms in 9.2 or if anyone has upgraded from 9.1 with tex's rpms installed? And of course, what were the results?

PS, I posted this in the "if you installed" thread, but I figured its better suited in the main forum. Sorry if this is the wrong thing to do.

Texstar's Kde 3.1.4 rpms for mandrake 9.1. I want kde 3.1.4 in 9.2, but no rpms are available and building from source is a nightmare using konstruct. At least that has been my experience in the past. Ive thought about either installing 9.1 with tex's 3.1.4 kde then upgrading to 9.2, or installing 9.2, and trying to install the 3.1.4 rpms from tex. I was wondering if anyone else had either installed these or did an upgrade with em already installed. I did see your post where 9.2 trashed your system. Not a good sign.
